MQ-9 Reaper arrives at Creech AFB
The first operational MQ-9 Reaper sits on the ramp at Creech Air Force Base, Nev., March 13. The remotely piloted aircraft is larger than the MQ-1 Predator, can carry up to 3,000 pounds of weapons, cruise at 50,000 feet and remain airborne for more than 24 hours. An F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter lands at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., after a Red Flag mission Feb. 12, 2007. All three of the Air Force's stealth aircraft models -- the B-2, F-117 and F-22 -- are taking part in Red Flag, which sharpens aircrews’ war-fighting skills in realistic combat situations. Night operation the rule, not the exception
F-15 Eagles and F-16 Fighting Falcons await night missions at Nellis Air Force, Nev., Oct 19. The Red Flag exercise ended flying operations Oct. 20. The U.S. Air Force Weapons School continues to ramp up its training flights as it prepares for the integration and mission employment phases in November and early December. The next Green Flag exercise begins Nov. 2, which sees Air Force fighters and bombers supporting large-scale Army training at Fort Irwin, Calif. The next Red Flag exercises in January and February will feature the first appearance of the F-22A Raptor in the world's most realistic large-force aerial combat training. Developing new tactics
