BASE TOURS

Thousands of people visit Nellis each year because of the variety of missions that may be found here. Touring Nellis' different units are a great way to learn our mission and learn the different jobs we do here at Nellis. Tours may be an excellent educational tool for groups interested in learning more about the United States Air Force. We welcome you to take a glimpse of life behind the gates.

  • Tours are given at the discretion of Nellis AFB. Nellis is not obligated to give tours on request.
  • All tours must be mission driven and will not be accepted if Nellis does not see a mission connection (This is determined by Nellis public affairs)
  • Public affairs approved tours are scheduled Monday - Friday during normal business hours (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.). No tours will be offered on the weekends or holidays.
  • Groups must have at least 10 attendees to be considered for a base tour.
  • Tour requests must be submitted at least 30 days in advance.
  • All guests must be high school age or older. A special event pass is required for all non DoD ID card holders.
  • If any guests are not U.S. citizens, it must be stated in the tour request form.
  • Group transportation will be provided by our Logistics Readiness Squadron which will be coordinated via public affairs once the tour is confirmed. Personal vehicles will not be permitted on base and must be parked at Area 2 or the base visitors center.
  • Please make Nellis AFB Public Affairs aware of any tour guests who are officers in the grade of O-6 or above as well as any distinguished persons, award winners, POWs, etc., who will be accompanying your tour.
  • Due to the extreme heat present in Southern Nevada during the summer, tour requests are not accepted from June 1 to Aug. 31 as to not cause discomfort for visitors.
  • All tours are subject to change or cancellation based on operational requirements.

Cadet Support

  • Due to the extensive coordination, support, and demand, we only schedule two Air Force JROTC tours per calendar year (one in March and one in October).
  • We will only entertain Junior ROTC and Civil Air Patrol requests from within our Nevada Test and Training Range communities in Southern Nevada.
