Thousands of people visit Nellis each year because of the variety of missions that may be found here. Touring Nellis may be an excellent educational tool for groups interested in learning more about the United States Air Force. We welcome you to take a glimpse of life behind the gates.

Tour Guidelines

  • Tours are scheduled Monday - Friday during normal business hours (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.). No tours will be offered on the weekends or holidays.
  • Tour requests must be submitted at least 30 days in advance, but no earlier than 90 days.
  • Tour planning will begin no earlier than 30 days from a request date, and only one tour per calendar week will be approved.
  • Groups must have at least 10 attendees and are limited to no more than 40.
  • All guests must be high school age or older. A special event pass is required for all non DoD ID card holders.
  • Please notify us if any tour guests are not U.S. citizens.
  • Groups are responsible for their own transportation (individual vehicles or caravanning is not allowed) and making all other arrangements outside the formal tour (e.g. if tour includes a lunch stop).
  • A maximum of 1 bus per tour.
  • Please make Nellis AFB Public Affairs aware of any tour guests who are officers in the grade of O-6 or above as well as any distinguished persons, award winners, POWs, etc., who will be accompanying your tour.
  • Due to the extreme heat present in Southern Nevada during the summer, tour requests are not accepted from June 1 to Aug. 31 as to not cause discomfort for visitors.
  • All tours are subject to change or cancellation based on operational requirements.

Cadet Support

  • Due to the extensive coordination and support required, we only schedule two Air Force ROTC tours per quarter (one per month).
  • We will only entertain Junior ROTC and Civil Air Patrol requests from within our Nevada Test and Training Range communities in Southern Nevada.
