99th CPTS, CONS closeout fiscal year

A flash tester is used to test the flash point of JP-8, a kerosene-based fuel used by the United States Air Force, Feb. 28, 2013, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. JP-8 has a flash point of 38 degrees Celsius. Too low a flash point can cause fuel to be a fire hazard and make the fuel subject to flashing. Fuel is sampled and tested daily for particulates. The conductivity probe is cleaned to ensure the next batch of fuel isn’t contaminated when using the same probe.
