NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev.-- Senior Airman Jonathan Colom-Ortiz, a safe technician journeyman from the 99th Civil Engineering Squadron, works on a Kaba Mos X-09 High Security lock May 18. The lock is used for top secret areas, vaults, and safes. Airman Colom-Ortiz is one of few stationed at Nellis that is certified to work on this type of lock. NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- Airman 1st Class Seth Norman, an Air Traffic Controller Apprentice from the 57th Operation Support Squadron has been assigned to Nellis for 8 months and feels lucky to have been station here because of the high operations tempo. Mark Moore, a flight engineer from the 66th Rescue Squadron, has the important task of performing preflight, through-flight and post flight inspections on rotary aircraft. He also has additional responsibilities as an aerial gunner. Tech Sgt. Moore retrained into the flight engineer career field 3-years-ago seeking a more challenging job.
