Motorcycle safety: Live to ride, dress to live
Tech. Sgt. Kevin Garces, 99th Air Base Wing executive assistant to the command chief, demonstrates the proper motorcycle safety gear for military members to wear while riding May 20, 2014, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. The Critical Days of Summer are approaching and motorcycle safety is an issue, when riding always wear long pants, long sleeves, boots, gloves, and a Department of Transportation approved helmet. Reflective vests are also required when riding in conditions that result in low visibility. There were 36 motorcycle fatalities from June 2009 until September 2013. According to the Energy.gov website, an air conditioners filters, coils and fins require regular maintenance for the unit to function efficiently throughout its years of service. Neglecting necessary maintenance ensures a steady decline in air conditioning performance while energy use steadily increases.
