Online system reduces trips to the finance office Published May 6, 2011 By Nellis Public Affairs NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- A system is available online to allow people to take care of many of the actions that would normally require a trip to the base finance office. The system, eFinance, gives customers a consistent experience at any Air Force base and allows for complete electronic processing. It also eliminates return trips to the finance office for customers who don't bring all of the supporting documentation the first time. EFinance uses a process that guides members through creating pay-affecting financial documents and non-Defense Travel System travel vouchers. After completing the form, eFinance tells the user which supporting documents are required and allows the user to fax or upload those documents. After completing the form and uploading the supporting documents, eFinance prompts the user to send the package electronically to either their supervisor or the finance office, depending on the transaction. Members can complete and submit the following documents in eFinance: · Non-DTS travel vouchers (formal training) · Advance pay (permanent change of station)/travel advance (if member doesn't have a Government Travel Card or Controlled Spend Account card) · Family separation allowance · Direct deposit of military pay or travel pay · State of legal residence · Basic allowance for housing certification/recertification Members can also be guided through the completion of the following forms: · Lost receipt form · Remission, waiver & rebuttal of debts · Secondary dependents determination Members can access eFinance from the Air Force Portal through the PiPS/eFinance link on the left hand side of the page or directly at https://www.my.af.mil/efinanceprod . Users will log in to eFinance with their Common Access Card personal identification certificate and are not required to create an account.
