CE Airmen test their readiness in BAK-12 competition

U.S. Airmen assigned to the 99th Civil Engineer Squadron participate in a BAK-12 aircraft arresting system competition at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, April 6, 2026. During the competition, Airmen were timed on their ability to deploy and reset the arresting system for reuse in the event a fighter aircraft would need to abort a takeoff or conduct an emergency landing.
