NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- Air Combat Command hosted the inaugural Combat Air Forces Logistics Tactical Conference at the Air Force Warfare Center, April 11-23, 2025.
Modeled after the CAF Weapons and Tactics Conference, this was the first event of its kind and served as a premier forum for logistics professionals to enhance combat readiness, develop agile solutions, and strengthen the Air Force’s ability to sustain combat operations in dynamic and contested environments.
“Logistics is a warfighting imperative,” said Gen. Ken Wilsbach, commander of ACC. “As we refine our logistics strategies and tactics for the future fight, CAF LOGTAC provides a vital platform to ensure our warfighters have the sustainment, agility and readiness they need to dominate in contested environments.”
CAF LOGTAC brought together the Air Force’s most experienced logistics experts, including officers and senior noncommissioned officers, to refine logistics tactics, techniques and procedures. The goal was to establish a framework for solving the most pressing tactical challenges to ensure maintenance and logistics capabilities keep pace with evolving threats.
The insights developed at this event drove combat speed and agility, aligning with ACC’s commitment to readiness, modernization and agile combat employment. This year’s theme was “Logistics Tactics for Combat Generation & Maneuver Amid Pacing Challenge in INDOPACOM,” reflecting the Air Force’s strategic focus on maintaining operational superiority in the Indo-Pacific region.
The conference centered on refining logistics speed, streamlining conditional authorities, and advancing contingency methods that enhance the Air Force’s ability to maneuver effectively across distributed environments. As the service continues to modernize its logistics enterprise, LOGTAC will play a vital role in strengthening lethality, operational flexibility, and sustainment capabilities.
"We are bringing together the Air Force’s most innovative maintenance and logistics minds to tackle tactical challenges head-on, ensuring we enhance speed in mission generation, refine logistics command and control, and deliver solutions we can train to tomorrow,” said Brig. Gen. Jennifer Hammerstedt, ACC director of logistics, engineering, and force protection. “The work accomplished here directly strengthens the Air Force’s ability to maneuver and project power across the globe.”
Throughout the event, senior leaders and subject matter experts provided insight into the future of logistics operations. Leaders discussed evolving logistics requirements, emerging operational challenges, and the need for adaptable sustainment solutions that support warfighters.
LOGTAC represents a critical step for the Air Force when it comes to sustaining combat forces in an era of increasing global competition.
“LOGTAC focused on our enduring competitive advantage that no adversary can ever match—our Airmen,” Hammerstedt said. “No matter when or how conflict occurs, our Airmen are ready, empowered, and trusted to perform with a professional warfighter ethos and with lethality.
As the Air Force sharpens its focus on high standards and combat readiness, this event reinforces the commitment to deliver innovative tactical logistics capabilities, strengthening the nation’s warfighting posture.
