Women Falcons drop three-game volleyball match to Rebels Published Oct. 10, 2007 LAS VEGAS -- Playing on the opponent's turf, the U.S. Air Force Academy's women's volleyball team dropped a three-game set to the University of Nevada Las Vegas during a Mountain West Conference game Oct. 6 at UNLV. The Academy's Falcons fell to the Rebels in straight 30-10, 30-15, and 30-20 sets. The Falcons dropped the first game by a 30-10 score and the second by a 30-15 mark. The Air Force stayed close throughout the opening of the third game, bringing the score to within four at the 22-18 mark, before ultimately falling by 30-20. Sophomore Michelle Harrington led the Falcons with a team high of seven kills, while juniors Jasamine Pettie and Kristina Stewart added six and five kills, respectively. Senior Kim Kallabis accounted for 10 assists, and freshman Jessica Hellmann added seven assists. Stewart also tallied 10 digs, while Kallabis and freshman Kelly Spencer added seven apiece. Senior Rebecca Gerton totaled the Falcons' lone service ace. The Falcons returned to the Academy on Thursday to host Colorado State University's Rams in the close out of the first half of the Mountain West Conference season. The Mountain West Conference also includes Brigham Young University, the University of Wyoming, San Diego State University, Texas Christian University, the University of New Mexico, and the University of Utah.
