Tax Center relieves the W-2 blues

The Nellis AFB Tax Center officially opened its doors to provide free tax advice, preparation and filing assistance for Nellis and Creech Airmen, their dependents and retirees holding a Department of Defense identification card here Jan. 22.

Located in building 625, just across the parking lot from the Commissary, the tax center will operate Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., now until tax deadline, April 15. For individuals needing special attention, Saturday appointments are available on a case-by-case basis.

Individuals filing with 1040EZ and 1040A tax forms have a special walk-in time reserved from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Those filing 1040 forms with schedules and attachments will have to call and make an appointment during regular operating hours.

Those wishing to receive assistance will need to remember to bring all necessary paperwork and documentation with them to their appointment or walk-in. To make an appointment or to get more information on what exactly is required, call the tax center at 702-652-2645 during normal operating hours.
