The Las Vegas Corporate Challenge season begins March 24.

Active duty, civilians employed at Nellis and retired military are gearing up for this annual competition that includes 34 events spanning 12-weeks.

Opening ceremonies begin March 26, with a torch relay, parade of banners and an executive relay.

Corporate Challenge is an Olympic-styled event awarding gold, silver and bronze medals to the top three places in each event. Points are awarded to the top six-place finishes in each event and the total accumulated points for all 34 events will crown the overall winning corporation. Team Nellis has finished first in the "A" Division for the past four years.

There are many events including archery, badminton, three-on-three basketball, cycling, bowling, canoe race, chess, darts, 8-ball, five-kilometer run, executive relay, fencing, fishing, flag football, golf, horseshoes, kickball, poker, racquetball, range shooting, sand volleyball, soccer, softball, swimming, table tennis, table top shuffleboard, tennis, 3-D dodge ball, track and field, tug-o-war, volleyball and the walk race.

To participate in the action, fill out a registration form** with what event you would like to participate in, and then turn it in at the fitness center, youth center, bowling center, golf course, community center or outdoor recreation. Once teams form, phone calls from the coach of that event will be made to participants for practices.

Volunteers are needed as scorers, time keepers, field judges, registration at events and many more. For more information on Corporate Challenge, give Mike Clegg a call at 652-7178.
