Nellis recognizes Volunteer of the Month Published Feb. 1, 2012 Nellis Public Affairs NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- Col. Carol Yannarella, 99th Air Base Wing vice commander, recognized Jim Mauck, 99th Aerospace Medicine Squadron Optometry Clinic dispense clerk, as the Installation Volunteer of the Month for November 2011 during a ceremony Jan. 30, 2012, on Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Mauck is a Red Cross volunteer who has been helping at the optometry clinic for 17 years. He helps patients pick out glasses, puts their orders into the system and packages their orders upon arrival. In addition, he researches missing inserts, which helps keep the Nellis medical equipment readiness rate above 98 percent.
