AmeriCorps VISTA Nevada Health Centers, Inc is in need of
volunteers to perform outreach efforts in the community promoting
the health care services that NVHC provides as well as healthy
lifestyles.  Volunteers are requested that can commit to
volunteering on a regular basis.  Please call contact if you

JOY PROM Las Vegas will be hosting its annual extravagant prom celebrating teenagers and adult individuals with cognitive and physical impairments on May 11, 2013 at the M Resort in Las Vegas from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The extraordinary experience recognizes the individual guest first and then their disability, while providing a positive environment free of judgment or negativity.

The 300 invited guests in attendance is comprised of individuals with cognitive or physical impairments who all reside in the greater Las Vegas area The invited guests are given the royal, red carpet treatment and hosted complimentary.
A host or hostess is paired with a guest at the beginning of the night and is responsible for accompanying the guest through each area of Joy Prom and staying with them throughout the night.
. A host or hostess must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Air Force Sergeants' Association
AFSA provides a voice for enlisted women and men, both active and retired, and their families. Volunteer opportunities are available at the pharmacies and are also needed to lobby for military quality of life, fundraising for local charity programs and scholarships and to aid in voter registration.

Airmen Against Drunk Driving
The AADD program is always looking for volunteers to help provide transportation for fellow airmen if they become impaired due to drinking.

Boy Scouts
Work with local youth ages 6-18 years to help them develop leadership, experience adventure and obtain personal growth.

First Sergeants' Council
Volunteers needed for Operation Warmheart charity fund and other events scheduled throughout the year.

Girl Scouts
Work with local youth ages 5-17 as troop leaders and more. Long and short term time commitments are available.

Nellis Area Spouses' Club
Nellis Enlisted Spouses' Club and Nellis Officers' Spouses' Club have merged and is now Nellis Area Spouses Club, open to spouses of all ranks. You can find more information at www.nellisasc.com, Nellis Area Spouses Club facebook page or email nellisasc@hotmail.com.  Purpose is to foster a spirit of good fellowship through the provision of social, cultural and recreational activities. NASC also manages the base Thrift Shop and volunteers are needed to keep it running.

Unit Booster Clubs
Booster Clubs for each unit on base may host events for the unit and hold fundraising activities to fund their unit events. Volunteering for your Unit Booster Club may involve holding a board position or participating in fundraising activities such as ushering at local shows and events.

IMMEDIATE NEED:

The Fitness Center is in need of volunteers for the First Sergeant 5K Fun Run to help set-up/tear down, road guard duty, handing out ti-shirts, and refreshments on the day of the event.  Showtime is 0600 in front lobby of the Fitness Center.  Uniform will be PT Gear or ABU for volunteers.  For more information, please contact SSgt Christian Concepcion 702.682.5199.

The Nellis Youth Basketball league is in need of coaches for the following age groups: Rookie (5-6 yr olds), Pro ( 7-8 yr olds), Jr.(9-10 yr olds) and the Sr. league(11-13 yr olds). Airman's Attic
The Attic provides a place for us to go with donations such as furniture, small appliances, kitchen equipment and other household goods that are in good usable condition. These items are made available to ranks E-4 and below at no charge. Volunteers are always needed to sort, clean and display items. Managed under the A&FRC.

American Red Cross - Hospital
Volunteers needed for a variety of positions.

American Red Cross - Base Branch Office
A variety of project volunteer opportunities as well as office assistance is needed.

Arts & Crafts Center
Looking for arts and crafts volunteers and recreation aides. Call for more details.

Volunteers needed from all faith groups to act as altar servers, ushers, Children's Church leaders and more.

The Base Library
Library volunteers are needed to check out media, check media for problems and maintain TV/VCR machines, maintain computer equipment, assist with shelving all materials, and much more.

Child Development Center
Assist CDC staff with a variety of administrative and childcare projects.

Community Center
Opportunities available as administrative assistant, Base Drama Club director, technical assistants and base special events.

Maintenance volunteers, office volunteers and activities volunteers are needed.

Health and Wellness Center
The HAWC utilizes volunteers for receptionist/clerical duties.

Lomie Heard Elementary and PTA
Fundraise for school programs and equipment, plan family events, and assist teachers and school staff. School requires volunteers to have at least one child enrolled in Lomie Heard for safety reasons.

Assist staff with many activities including skeet shoots.

Outdoor Recreation
Needs adventure coordinators, van/bus drivers, and Volksmarch assistant.

Retiree Activities Office
The RAO looks for retirees to participate in RAO activities and assist with workshops. Volunteer counselors are also utilized in the RAO.

Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Office
Victim Advocate, graphic artist and outreach assistant positions are available to volunteers.

Sports & Fitness Center
Volunteer Opportunities available to assist with various road races and coaching a variety of sports.

Tax Assistance Office
Seasonal volunteers perform receptionist duties and act as administrative assistants and computer assistants. Training is provided for tax preparation counselors.

Thrift Shop
Proceeds from the sale of donated items go towards base scholarships and other worthy base causes. Volunteer positions available as computer operator, customer service, shelver, greeter, checker and tagger. Shop is managed through the Nellis Officers' Spouses' Club.

Veterinary Treatment Facility
Utilizes one or two volunteers to assist with administration work.

Youth Center
Work with youth of various ages to improve and maintain their physical, social and mental well-being. Opportunities include office help as well as coaches and teachers for many sports and activities.

The USBC volunteers coach and guide youth bowlers ages 3-12 years at the base Bowling Center.
