Airmen with the 557th Expeditionary RED HORSE Squadron (ERHS), work on the roof of a tactical operations center (TOC) on Friday, June 22, 2007. The Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineers RED HORSE Airmen are forward deployed from Balad Air Base, Iraq, and are tasked to build four tactical operations centers (TOCs) for the Army's 2nd Brigade combat team, 3rd Infantry Division headquartered here. The 2/3 ID is currently running operations out of tents. The Air Force RED HORSE unit, made up of Air Guard, Reserve and active duty Airmen, was requested, by the Army, to come into this "Triangle of Death" location because of their self-suffiency and for the multiple skill sets they bring to a project. Besides the TOCs the RED HORSE Airmen are working on several other projects at the FOB. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Jim Varhegyi)

Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., is one of the largest fighter bases in the world. Aircraft from Nellis operate on the Nevada Test and Training Range, which offers more than 15,000 square miles of airspace and 4,700 square miles of restricted land. More than 75 percent of all live munitions used by the Air Force for training are dropped on the Nevada Test and Training Range. From 100 feet above the ground to twice the speed of sound, Nellis conducts advanced combat training, performs operational test and evaluation, and develops tactics.
