The 505th Combat Training Group’s mission is to expertly and professionally conduct operational assessments/experimentation, develop advanced tactics, and train warfighters for multi-domain integration. They accomplish their mission by being the Combat Air Forces’ recognized experts on integrating, experimenting, and evaluation command and control and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance weapons systems and sensors for combat employment within the Joint All-Domain construct.
The 505th Combat Training Group (CTG) is headquartered at Nellis AFB, Nevada, is assigned to the 505th Command and Control Wing (CCW) at Hurlburt Field, Florida. The 505 CTG oversees operations of the 805th Combat Training Squadron, Nellis AFB, Nevada, the 505th Communications Squadron, Hurlburt Field, Florida, the 505th Combat Training Squadron, Hurlburt Field, Florida, and the 705th Combat Training Squadron, Kirtland AFB, New Mexico.
The 805th Combat Training Squadron (CTS) also known as Shadow Operations Center – Nellis (ShOC-N) and is Air Combat Command’s (ACC) focal point for experimentation, rapid development, and test support to Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) technical solutions and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) for the Multi-Domain Operations Center (MDOC) of the future. The 805 CTS provides relevant C2 experience with Agile DevOps and Operationally Relevant Assessments (ORA) to assist in transforming ShOC-N into MDOC-N. The 805 CTS’ mission focuses on evolving JADC2 concepts, applications, and architectures through capability development, training, and support to functional and operational assessment.
