SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Matthew K. Voorhees, 50th Civil Engineer Squadron superintendent, was awarded the 2020 Space Operations Command senior non-commissioned officer of the year award on April 20, 2021. The award recognizes 12 outstanding enlisted personnel for exceptional job performance in their primary duty and the superior leadership and followership they exemplify. Voorhees is responsible for five flights within the 50 CES encompassing nine different AFSC’s. His team is responsible for sustaining and protecting 80 facilities encompassing 2.1 million square feet. Voorhees was selected as an Airmen Leadership School class mentor and Top III council vice president. He is married to his wife, Jessica, for 19 years and they have four sons together.
