The EWS-G system collects weather imagery to enable fielded forces to perform environmental reconnaissance and cloud characterization over the Indian Ocean region. EWS-G is a component of the Family of Systems comprising space and terrestrial environmental monitoring assets in the Space-Based Environmental Enterprise portfolio.
