57th AMXS Lightning AMU conducts hot pit training

Tech. Sgt. Jermaine Lee, 57th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron aerospace propulsion specialist, marshals an F-35 Lightning II at the revetments Oct. 16, 2013, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. The 57th AMXS Lightning Aircraft Maintenance Unit conducted for the first time, back-to-back training missions utilizing hot-pit refueling, a procedure usually performed in a combat situation to rapidly refuel aircraft while their engines are running, resulting in a speedy refuel and getting pilots right back into the fight.
