Defenders offer year-round bike patrol

Staff Sgt. Jordan Young, 99th Security Forces Squadron training instructor, practices a power-slide breaking maneuver near base housing April 23, 2014, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. The 99th SFS is patrolling the hospital side of base housing neighborhoods on bicycles. In addition to making the patrolmen more approachable and personable, patrolling on bicycles gives patrolmen the ability to quickly move through areas that motor vehicles cannot, such as parks and playgrounds.
