The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that 100,000 police reported crashes are the direct result of driver fatigue each year. This equals to 1,550 deaths, 71,000 injuries, and $12.5 billion in monetary losses. Although there are many studies about driving while fatigued, there are no tests to determine if a person is tired like there is for drinking and driving. Airmen are reminded to get enough sleep so they are not tired behind the wheel. Don’t become another statistic! (U.S. Air Force photo illustration by Senior Airman Jason Couillard)
