Urban CAS briefing

Lt. Col. David Rawlins, 98th Operations Support Squadron commander, briefs Lincoln County commissioners July 20 about the results of recent urban close air support training missions within the county. The missions, which were flown over Panaca, Calliente and Alamo, Nev. in 2008, allowed A-10, F-15E and F-16 pilots to use Sniper Advanced Targeting Pods to find, fix, and track simulated terrorists in an urban environment. The 98th Range Wing pre-coordinated the training missions with local officials. (U.S. Air Force photo by Charles Ramey/released)
