SERE Water Survival Training

U.S. Air Force Capt. Justin Elliot, 422nd Test and Evaluation Squadron, F-15E Strike Division pilot, Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., puts items into his survival kit while floating in a raft on the lake during the Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape water survival training course Aug. 17, 2011, at Lake Mead, Nev. The training familiarizes Elliot with how to use each item he will have available after an ejection in order to stay alive and request a rescue. SERE specialists train high risk aircrew and personnel to survive, evade, and return safely should they eject, bailout, or otherwise become isolated during combat, anywhere in the world.
