Developing new tactics
Two F-15E Strike Eagles take off from Nellis AFB, Nev., Aug. 15. The "OT" tails belong to the 53rd Wing's 422nd Test and Evaluation Squadron, which is based at Nellis. The 422nd conducts operational testing on new hardware and upgrades to the A-10, F-15, F-15E, F-16, F-22A and HH-60G. The squadron also develops and publishes new tactics for these six aircraft. An F-15 shows off its new Aggressor paint scheme over Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. The 65th Aggressor Squadron, which flies the F-15, stood up earlier this year. The 64th Aggressor Squadron, also at Nellis, flies F-16 Aggressor aircraft.
