After the Gloryland Quartet finished singing the National Anthem, four A-10C Thunderbolts flew over the 505th Command and Control Wing Change of Command Ceremony, which contained a static display of an airborne warning and control system, or AWACS, aircraft, and two A-10Cs at Hurlburt Field, Florida, July 20, 2023. The 23rd Wing at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, provided the A-10s for the static display and flyover, while the 552d Air Control Wing at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma, provided the AWACS for the static display. Red Flag-Nellis 23-3
Southern Nevada residents may notice increased noise from military aircraft as the Air Force conducts Red Flag 23-3 from July 17 to August 4. Close to 100 aircraft are scheduled to depart Nellis twice a day and may remain in the air for up to five hours during this large-scale exercise. Also, expect aircraft noise during nighttime and weekend launches.
