Air Force Assistance Fund
NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- The official kick off of the 2011 Air Force Assistance Fund Campaign was March 28, and a renewed focus to ?Commitment to Caring.? The AFAF campaign ran for six weeks, recently ending in the middle of May. The 2011 campaign marks a historical achievement for Nellis and Creech Air Force Bases. The dedicated units representatives, fundraising initiatives, and charitable donations enabled ?Team Nellis? to raise $153,141. This significant moment in the history for the home of the war fighter marks the most money ever raised by the installation in support of the AFAF campaign! The AFAF has a long history of providing worldwide critical assistance to Air Force members and their families. The AFAF also sponsors educational assistance programs and offers a wide variety of base community enhancement programs that improve Airmen family welfare. The money raised by Team Nellis will benefit four charities: The Air Force Aid Society, Air Force Enlisted Village, Air Force Village, and The General and Mrs. Curtis E. Lemay Foundation, all of which benefit Airmen and their families in times of need. The installation is proud of its impact on our United States Air Force family.
