New inspection system taking form at Nellis
With the new Air Force Inspection System taking form, Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., Airmen will no longer spend weeks and months preparing for a one-week inspection, but rather be graded on their overall performance over a two-year cycle. Another important change brought on by the new AFIS is the Commander's Inspection Program, or CCIP, which is designed to give more power to wing commanders by allowing them to run their wing's inspection program. Nevada sets law to curb human trafficking

57th Wing Safety wins ACC best practice
Tech. Sgt. Donald Salamone, 57th Wing flight safety craftsman, gives a safety brief to dedicated crew chiefs in Detachment 13, Jan. 24, 2014, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. The 57th Wing safety office conducts flight safety maintenance meetings four times a year to educate Airmen on maintenance trends across the combat Air Force. Maintenance mishaps, how mishaps happen and how to prevent mishaps are issues discussed in the flight safety maintenance meetings. The U.S. Air Force Warfare Center submitted a quarterly flight safety maintenance meeting to Air Combat Command, and ACC awarded the 57th Wing safety office as a best practice and wants to spread it across other bases. General Carlisle Addresses Warfighters at annual Weapons and Tactics Conference

Joseph Hubbard, 53rd Test Management Group superintendent, while the Nellis AFB Honor Guard removes his casket from a hearse during a dignified transfer ceremony Jan. 10, 2014, at McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas. Hubbard entered the Air Force Aug. 21, 1990, initially serving as a security specialist at Barksdale AFB, La. In 1994 he transitioned into communications and computer system operations.
