Buck oversees USAFWC's mission to shape the way our forces fight through operational testing, tactics development, and advanced training in air, space and cyberspace. Additionally, he ensures the center executes five tasks: certify weapon systems for combat; develop joint, integrated combat employment tactics for the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps; graduate advanced war-fighting experts from six unique schools; provide joint, integrated exercise venues for U.S. Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and Army units; and deliver solutions to immediate combat problems and new innovations to all war-fighters. U.S. Air Force Col. Carol C. Yannarella, 99th Air Base Wing vice commander, stands near the front gate July 21, 2011, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Yannarella supports the installation command authority for Nellis and Creech Air Force Bases and the 2.9 million-acre Nevada Test and Training Range. She is responsible for all installation support, which includes providing communications, contracting, engineering, environmental, law enforcement, logistics, medical, security, services, supply, transportation and mission support, for more than 12,000 assigned personnel and 313,000 dependents, retirees and veterans. In addition, the 99th Air Base Wing supports the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center, 57th Wing, 432nd Wing and elements of the 53rd Wing, 505th Command and Control Wing and 23rd Wing. There are 171 fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft assigned to Nellis and nearly 1,500 visitors and temporary-duty personnel conduct business at Nellis daily.
