Chai Hoon-cha Choir performs for Nellis Airmen
NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. - Hyeon-Sim Kim, a professional opera singer with the Chai Hoon-Cha Choir, performs "Juliette's Waltz" from the "Romeo and Juliette" opera for Nellis Airmen, family and friends at the base chapel here, Aug. 10. The Chai Hoon-Cha Choir is an internationally recognized choir from Seoul, South Korea.Their performance included seven songs, some were sang in English and others were sang in Korean. Founded in 2001, the group performed in the United States and Canada from Aug. 6 to 14. This visit to Nellis marks a first for the Chai Hoon-Cha Choir. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Michael R. Change in dependent rate
The Air Force will be conducting a force-wide dependent rate Base Allowance for Housing recertification between March and December 2014. Individuals who are receiving or entitled to dependent rate pay will be contacted by the finance office and asked to fill out AF form 594 (Application and Authorization to start, stop or change Basic Allowance for Quarters or Dependency Redetermination) and provide any relevant certificates or decrees. Individuals will be contacted in numerical order based on the last two digits of their social security number and will have 30 days to turn in the required documentation to the finance office. Chief Gaylor speaks at 57th Wing Annual Awards Banquet
Retired Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Robert Gaylor speaks at the 57th Wing annual awards banquet at the Club Feb. 8, 2014, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Gaylor was the fifth Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force and is currently the oldest living Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, Gaylor served as a military policeman and advanced to the rank of master sergeant after only seven years and seven months of service. While serving as the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, Gaylor helped secure a policy that allowed senior airmen to transport their families at government expense during permanent change of station moves, a significant move in improving troop quality of life. City Park Grand Opening
The F-22 Raptor replica is unveiled as the visual centerpiece of The Thunderbird Family Sports Complex Feb. 16, 2013. The aircraft, appearing to fly above a monument plaza with contrail-shaped curved steel beams, is anchored in a concrete base providing support. The Raptor was selected due to its use in the 57th Wing at Nellis Air Force Base and pays tribute to the United States Air Force and all military families in the Las Vegas valley.
