U.S. Air Force Weapons School Mobility Air Forces Exercise
NEVADA TEST AND TRAINING RANGE -- Soldiers from the 173 Calvary Airborne Reconnaissance Squadron, Fort Bragg, N.C., are airdropped into the Urban Operations Complex from a C-17 Globemaster III during a Mobility Air Forces Exercise, Nov. 18. The aircraft and soldiers are part of the bi-annual U.S. Air Force Weapons School MAFEX which provides realistic training for combat air force, mobility air force, and U.S. Army personnel. Approximately 40 C-17s and C-130s from Air Force bases around the United States flew approximately 400 Soldiers from Fort Bragg, N.C., for airdrops on the Nevada Test and Training Range. Maintainers get war ready at Red Flag
NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev.--Tech. Sgt. Curtis Walker, an avionics specialist with the 494th Aircraft Maintenance Unit at RAF Lakenheath, England, changes a hardpoint cannon plug on an F-15E Strike Eagle during Red Flag 10-1 at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., Oct. 30, 2009. Cannon plugs are used to make electrical connections throughout an aircraft. On hardpoints, they provide power for external fuel tanks, targeting pods and munitions racks.
