Nellis recovers following microburst
Maintenance and support personnel move an F-16 out from under a collapsed structure at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Sept. 9, 2011. A canopy which provides protection from the elements collapsed when a microburst, a sudden, violent downdraft of air over a small area; hit the base at approximately 5 p.m. Sept. 8. Eight military members received minor injuries and were treated at the Mike O?Callahan Federal Hospital and all have been released. In addition to the injured military personnel, vehicles in the area as well as the walls and the concrete pad holding the structure were also damaged. Thirteen aircraft, including 11 F-16s and two A-10s, were in individual bays were under the structure at the time of the incident. The incident is under investigation and the full extent of the damage to the aircraft and other resources in the area is currently being assessed. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Brett Clashman)

AFI 36-2903
U.S. Air Force Airman has an excessive amount of tattoos on his arms Aug. 31, 2011, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. The new Air Force Instruction 36-2903, which was revised July 18, 2011, states Airmen with excessive tattoos/brands/body markings will not be exposed or visible (includes visible through the uniform) while wearing any/all uniform combination(s) except the PTU. This includes any combination of short sleeve, long sleeve, open collar uniform, utility uniform sleeves rolled up or worn down, flight duty uniform, etc. This policy does not apply when wearing the PTU. Excessive is defined as any tattoos/brands/body markings that exceed (25 percent) of the exposed body part and are readily visible when wearing any/all uniform combinations. A variety of military boots are set out Aug. 30, 2011, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. The new Air Force Instruction 36-2903, which was revised July 13, 2011, states Airmen are not allowed to wear tan boots effective 1 November 2011, tan boots will not be worn with the ABU unless authorized by the Theater commander for wear only in theater. Maxwell, author of "Developing the Leader Within You," during a Lunch N' Lead Seminar on Aug. 24, 2011 at the Professional Development Center, on Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Lunch N' Lead Seminars are designed for airmen, first time supervisors, and experienced supervisors who want to improve their leadership skills.
