“Capt. Carlisle” unveiled: MiG-23 dedicated to ACC Commander
An Airman reveals the nickname of a MiG-23 during a dedication ceremony at the Threat Training Facility on Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., Oct. 17. The MiG-23 was dedicated to Gen. “Hawk” Carlisle, commander of Air Combat Command, in recognition of his time as the Chief of Weapons and Tactics and Flight Commander for the 4477th Test and Evaluation Squadron from 1986 to 1988.

2011 POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony
George Brawerman, former U.S. Army combat engineer, was captured in Germany during World War II and held prisoner. Mr. Brawerman and many other prisoners of war and service members missing in action were recognized during the National Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Recognition Day ceremony Sept. 16, 2011, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. The National POW/MIA Recognition Day is observed across the nation on the third Friday of September each year.
