U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds search for Aviation Nation “Hometown Hero”

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are searching for a Las Vegas-area “Hometown Hero” to fly in the backseat of an F-16 before the Aviation Nation Air Show taking place April 5-6 at Nellis AFB.

The Hometown Hero program recognizes individuals who make significant contributions to their communities, embodying the spirit of service and dedication. Nominees should be residents who have demonstrated exceptional acts of courage, selflessness, or service that positively impact Southern Nevada.

Ideal candidates could include, but not limited to:

  • Wounded warriors (pending medical clearance)
  • An average citizen who heroically saved a life
  • A first responder or medical professional
  • A renowned educator
  • Someone who dedicates their life to mentoring or volunteering in the community
  • A community member who has gone above and beyond to improve the lives of others.
