A secure, family friendly park that provides fun in the sun and a place to meet new friends, the Desert Eagle RV Park is available for active duty, retired military and civilians with base access to use.

The Park is located on the hospital side of Nellis AFB directly behind the Mike O'Callaghan Federal Medical Center. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Weekend hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The facility is approximately 200 acres and staying at the park requires a fee.

"There is a six month maximum that people are allowed to stay and our full hookup with sewer is $22 per day, partial hookups is $18 per day, that is without sewer just water and electricity," said Randy Peck, 99th Force Support Squadron Desert Eagle RV Park manager. "We do have tent camping also for $8 per day."

With various events that happen in Las Vegas within the year, the Desert Eagle RV Park has peak visitor seasons.

"NASCAR is our peak of the year and it's coming up here in a couple of weeks, the place will be hopping and jammed packed 100 percent," Peck said. "We are booked up solid right now. There's no more room, but people can still come and stay in overflow where there are no hookups."

Great security, potluck events, Wi-Fi, walking trails and the cleanliness of the park are the services that keep people coming back to.

"It's like coming home. I can meet new people who have the same criteria, who want to serve their country and there is something fulfilling about doing that," said retired Lt. Col. Stephen Kaplan, RV park customer. "Going through the gate and seeing the new generation take care of our country. It's very clean and secure and the people are honest and I have a lot in common with the people here," Kaplan added.

In January 2015, the park will be expanding with approximately 50 more camp sites. For more information about the Desert Eagle RV Park call 702-643-3060.
