As Red Flag 14-2 gears up, so does the Crosswinds Dining Facility. Red Flag exercises bring in service members from other Air Force units, U.S. military services and allied nations.

There are approximately 100 aircraft participating in Red Flag 14-2 from around 20 units with more than 1,100 people. The dining facility will increase its production to feed the increased number of troops.

"Starting on Monday we'll see an increase in individuals coming into the dining facility," said Master Sgt. Letitia Sonnenberg, 99th Force Support Squadron dinning facility manager.

"We will be increasing the number of Airmen working on each shift to a total of eight per shift," Sonnenberg said. The number of Airmen per shift is being increased to ensure that the dining facility will meet the increase in the number of customers."

Along with an increase in Airmen working at the dining facility, there will also be an increase in the amount of food being prepared.

"On a normal day the facility prepares around 200 pounds of food. During the Red Flag we prepare around 450 pounds of food a day," said Technical Sgt. Christian Munoz, 99th FSS storeroom NCO in charge.

Prepping for the increased customer traffic begins well before Red Flag.

"We do start preparing in advance. We started about a week in advance by bringing in extra food," Sonnenberg said.

During Red Flag 14-2 the dining facility will maintain its regular hours. The hours are as follows:

· Breakfast
Monday through Friday: 5 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

· Lunch
Monday through Friday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

· Dinner
Monday through Friday: 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

· Midnight Snack
Monday through Friday: 10:30 p.m. to midnight
Saturday and Sunday: 11 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

With the advance preparation and an increase in productivity, the Crosswinds Dining Facility will continue to maintain its high level of service.
