The 99th Aerospace Medicine Squadron Optometry Clinic moved from the Mike O'Callaghan Federal Medical Center into Building 340 on Devlin Drive on June 12.

The optometry clinic is now located next door to the flight medicine clinic and the satellite pharmacy.

The move was brought on by the medical group reallocating its space and needing the old clinic area. The new location was chosen to help the 99th AMDS provide better service to its customers.

"We moved for two reasons, to be closer to other flights in our squadron; especially flight medicine, and our old clinic was needed for other purposes," said Capt. (Dr.) William Catt, 99th Aerospace Medicine chief of aerospace optometry.

The new location reduces wait time for patients needing to be seen urgently and hosts updated exam rooms.

"[The move] is great because the equipment is new and it is more convenient for our customers since we are right around the corner," said Senior Airman Nichelle Patterson, 99th Aerospace Medicine optometry technician.

Although there were limited operations during the move, operations are now back to normal.
