For 81 years, Toastmasters International has helped more than four million men and woman worldwide become better, more confidant public speakers. The award-winning Nellis chapter had been in the Las Vegas valley for more than 37 years, making it one of the oldest and most distinguished clubs in Las Vegas. Thanks in a large part to the Company Grade Officers' Club,"Flying High" will be reborn and prepared to help all members of the community become better speakers and listeners in a mutually supportive environment. "The entire Nellis community will be enriched and enhanced by the return of a Toastmaster club," said Sherrie Parker, Toastmaster's District 33 Division D governor. "The ‘Flying High Toastmasters' club was one of the leading clubs in the Las Vegas Toastmaster community, and I'm thrilled this respected club is being re-launched!" Through its member clubs, Toastmasters International helps men and women learn the arts of speaking, listening and thinking - vital skills that promote self-actualization, enhance leadership, foster human understanding and contribute to the betterment of mankind. "This is an excellent opportunity for any Nellis community members to improve on their public speaking and leadership abilities, the two-skill progression tracks honed by the Toastmasters format," said Company Grade Officer Council president 1st Lt. Jeremy Tachau. A demonstration of how Toastmasters meetings work will be done at 4:30 p.m., July 20, at the Nellis Officers' Club Check 6 Lounge.
