Nellis to host 20th Annual Defense System Forum Published June 8, 2009 By Airman 1st Class Anthony May 547th Intelligence Squadron NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- The 547th Intelligence Squadron will host the 20th annual Integrated Air Defense Systems Forum from June 23 to 26 located at the Threat Training Facility on Nellis. The IADS Forum complements the nationally recognized Nellis Air Tactics Conference, which is held every January. "This is a great opportunity to bring together various intelligence agencies and their air defense experts to work towards a common goal, which is to bring our air crews home safely and maintain combat superiority," said Lt. Col. Greg Brown, the 547th IS commander. "The Nellis IADS Forum takes place once a year and gives national agencies an opportunity to exchange information with other service level agencies," Mr. Larry Shoger said, a 547th civilian intelligence analyst who has helped with the IADS Forum for the past 10 years. "This forum greatly assists in spreading information from different government agencies to our sister military branches, which allows invaluable information to be disseminated throughout the combat Air Force." The IADS Forum will bring together approximately 150 personnel from more than 80 operational, intelligence and acquisition organizations. Participants will review and discuss the latest intelligence on adversary ground-based air defense and the impact on U.S. and allied weapon systems and tactics. To support the IADS Forum, access to the Threat Training Facility's main entrance will be closed. For questions or tour availability the office may be reached at (702) 652-5119.
