Chief Master Sgt. Robert L. Sealey is Nellis' newest command Chief Master Sergeant at the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center.

Chief Sealey is the Warfare Center's fifth command chief since its re-designation in 2005. He arrived here Nov. 29, 2010, and he is looking forward to taking on his new position.

"I have served as a command chief in both host and tenant wings, so I feel I have a good perspective to provide at the Warfare Center," Chief Sealey said. "I know we are impacting the fight today; we're at the tip of the spear and I'm very excited to be a part of this organization."

The Warfare Center reports directly to the Air Combat Command commander and its main mission is to shape the way military forces fight through operational testing, tactics development and advanced training in air, space and cyberspace. As the command chief of the Warfare Center, Chief Sealey will act as the top enlisted advisor to Maj. Gen. James Hyatt, USAFWC commander.

"I believe the tactics, techniques and procedures the Warfare Center develops on a day-to-day basis are crucial because they make it easier for all deployed Airmen to accomplish the mission," the Chief said.

Chief Sealey has seen first-hand how the tactics developed at the Warfare Center directly impact the Airmen overseas conducting contingency operations. During his 20 years as a member of security forces and his previous command chief positions, he has served in locations all over the world.

Though he works in the Warfare Center, one of Chief Sealey's priorities is to communicate with Airmen around base and learn what they are thinking and feeling. Consequently, he has a lot of advice to share with Airmen of all ranks.

"Be the best Airman you can," Chief Sealey stated. "Learn your job, do it to your best ability, and do it with passion and pride. Everything else will fall in line. Seek advice; don't ever be afraid to ask questions."

Chief Sealey considers it to be part of his job to try to make everyone's lives better. By making an effort to get to know his surroundings, he hopes that he can discover ways to improve the Warfare Center family. In return, the chief expects his Airmen to work hard and communicate openly, so that any problems that may arise will be solved quickly and efficiently.

"I like to be part of the community," he said. "I think the best way for me to be the representative voice of the enlisted population is to have that connection, that relationship between me and you."

In addition to communication, Chief Sealey strongly believes in servant leadership and making sure all Airmen know they are important to the mission. He feels the mission is achievable only when supervisors show their Airmen how to perform tasks and set expectations.

"When I was an Airman, an NCO made an impact on me by making me focus on what I wanted and what I had to do to get there," he explained. "I want the same impact to be made on every Airman here because we're not just preparing for this fight, we're preparing for tomorrow's fight, ensuring we continue to be the best air force this world has ever seen. We want to make sure we're ready to answer our nation's call at any given time. We train now for the future."
