Main Gate delays May 6-26 Published May 5, 2011 By Airman 1st Class Whitney Jackson Nellis Public Affairs NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- Base personnel and visitors to Nellis Air Force Base should expect delays at the Main Gate as the 99th Civil Engineer Squadron begins a pavement improvement project May 6. The project, scheduled to last through May 26, will reduce inbound traffic to a single lane from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 3 p.m. Fridays through 5 a.m. Mondays. To alleviate traffic during peak construction periods, the North Gate at Beale Avenue will be open from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 5:30 a.m. to midnight Fridays, and 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The Visitors Center will remain open throughout construction.
