Kentucky Air Guard kicks off 2021 Thunder air show Published April 19, 2021 123rd Airlift Wing Public Affairs LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Kentucky Air National Guard kicked off Saturday’s Thunder Over Louisville air show with a nine-person parachute jump from one of the unit’s aircraft by members of its special tactics squadron.The Airmen — all combat controllers and pararescuemen from the 123rd Special Tactics Squadron — performed a high-altitude, low-opening parachute insertion from a C-130 Hercules to open the show at 4 p.m.This year’s show featured more than 20 military and civilian aircraft, including a three-ship C-130 aerial demonstration from the Kentucky Air Guard’s 123rd Airlift Wing.
