RAF MILDENHALL, U.K. -- Col. Nathan L. Owendoff took command of the 352d Special Operations Wing, stationed on RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom, Sept. 25, 2020.
The 352 SOW consists of CV-22B Ospreys, MC-130J Commando IIs, special tactics, special operations aircraft maintenance and support squadrons.
Maj. Gen. Erik T. Hill, Air Force Special Operations Command deputy commander, officiated the change of command, held in a hangar owned by the Team Mildenhall installation command, 100th Air Refueling Wing. Col. Clay Freeman, after passing command to Col. Owendoff, will serve as the U.S. Special Operations Command – Europe operations director.
The 352 SOW mission is to provide specialized air power and combat support to a full spectrum of special operations, to include infiltration, extraction and resupply of equipment, supplies and personnel to austere and contested environments. It is home to over 1,200 active duty Air Commandos.
