JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas --
The application window for the Chief of Staff of the Air Force Captains Prestigious Ph.D. Program is open for active-duty Air Force captains who seek unique learning experiences at top universities.
The program offers three captains the opportunity to earn their doctoral degrees in strategic studies at an elite civilian institution with the goal of building Air Force and joint leaders who can communicate and exercise critical thinking skills with civilian leadership across enterprises.
Commanders are encouraged to nominate only their most competitive officers. A senior-level panel of general officers will review and select members for the program. The selection panel will consider officers’ military performance, strength of application, letters of nomination, past academic performance and personal statements.
Degree options include Asia Pacific studies, history, political science, international relations, economics, philosophy, international business relations, international security studies, and political systems and theories.
Packages are due to the AFPC Assignment and Workforce Development Support Branch by July 27, 2018, with no waivers to qualification criteria or deadlines. The classes begin in the fall of 2019.
