U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Creighton Nelson, 19th Weapons School advanced enlisted mission planning cell instructor, conducts a briefing, using a close air support chart as a visual aid Dec. 17, 2013, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Nelson was selected as the Nellis Top III MVP Award winner for the month of November. Nelson worked towards certifying to instruct two advanced enlisted mission planning cell academics. Each brief is approximately two and a half hours and details advanced fundamental concepts needed to understand adversary threat equipment. Nelson’s certification was delayed due to his developmental special duty assignment notification so he used his knowledge and experience to train a new NCO in order to get their exposure to these advanced concepts and adversary threats. Additionally, Nelson seeks out opportunities to improve and after completing the Community College of the Air Force requirements and was awarded his CCAF degree in Intelligence Studies.
