This is the last week of the 41st annual Air Force Assistance Fund campaign at Nellis AFB, Creech AFB and the Nevada Test and Training Range.

With its permanent campaign theme, "Commitment to Caring", the AFAF has a long legacy of providing worldwide critical assistance to Air Force members and their families through Air Force charities.

It's not too late to contribute. This year, the campaign will run from March 2 to May 2. The goals for Team Nellis are to obtain 100 percent contact of all assigned personnel and to exceed our installation goal of $196,797. The donation process is simple and takes a minimal amount of time and effort. Personnel can donate via Payroll Deduction Plan, cash or check to each of the following four charitable affiliates:

The Air Force Aid Society provides Airmen and their families, worldwide, with emergency financial assistance and an array of base-level community-enhancement programs. Last year, the Air Force Aid Society assisted Nellis, Creech and NTTR Airman and their families by providing interest free loans and grants, supporting child care programs such as "Give Parents a Break" and "Child Care for PCS" as well as providing educational grants, all totaling more than $490,000. The airman and family readiness center has full details on programs and eligibility requirements. More information is available at the www.afas.org.

The Air Force Village and Air Force Enlisted Village provide financial assistance and a safe, secure and dignified place for retired enlisted members, retired officers, spouses, widows or widowers and family members. More details are available at www.airforcevillages.com.

The General and Mrs. Curtis E. Lemay Foundation provides rent and financial assistance to widows and widowers of officer and enlisted retirees in their homes and communities through financial grants of assistance. The Lemay Foundation website is www.lemay-foundation.org.

To contribute to this year's campaign, contact your squadron's AFAF key worker and tell them that you'd like to donate. Remember, it is not about Airmen giving more, it is about more Airmen giving in their commitment to caring!
