Cars wait a stop sign on Washington Avenue while navigating a road detour on Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., March 18, 2015. The detours were put in place on March 16, 2015 to make way for road construction. The project will take four months to complete and will occur in two phases. Traffic will remain open on Washington Avenue for the duration of the project and both directions will share one side of the road. During the first phase, construction will be done on areas of Washington Avenue in front of the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center as well as a section of Ellsworth Avenue. During Phase two, work will be done on the other side of Washington Avenue in front of the USAFWC, as well as Devlin Drive and Swaab Boulevard. For more information on the projects, contact Master Sgt. Julie Hanania, 99th Civil Engineer Squadron customer service section chief at 702-652-2301.
