Community Assessment Survey begins in March Published June 6, 2006 By Airman 1st Class Andrew Dumboski 99ABW/PA NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- Approximately 1,000 Nellis active-duty servicemembers and all military spouses at Nellis will be asked to participate in the 2006 Community Assessment Survey in March. The randomly selected, active-duty members will receive notification through their work e-mail addresses, and a postcard will be mailed to spouses. The notification will include a link to the Web-based survey. “The 2006 Community Assessment Survey is a top priority,” said Capt. Eric Oglesbee, Integrated Delivery System chairman. “It is the best way for us to listen to servicemembers and their spouses and then provide services to help them meet their needs and the needs of their families. It allows them to express their opinions anonymously so participants can respond openly and honestly to issues that affect them every day.” The information collected from this survey will be used to assist the Family Support Center, Family Advocacy Program, Health and Wellness Center, Life Skills, Family Member Programs, Chaplains, and other agencies to improve services. Survey responses can directly influence services and related support activities for single and married members and their families at local bases and throughout the Air Force. In fact, results from previous Air Force Community Assessments have impacted the policies and programs that support families at every level of the Air Force. “The 2006 Community Assessment Survey provides servicemembers and spouses a wonderful opportunity to improve the Air Force community,” said Captain Oglesbee. “We hope those selected will do everything they can to respond to the survey as quickly as possible.” For more information, contact Captain Oglesbee at 653-3880 or Susan Robinson, Community Action Information Board executive director, at 652-3327.
