McCarthy Nellis AFB Public Affairs NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- Airmen from the 99th Logistics Readiness Squadron Fuels Management Flight received the 99th Air Base Wing command chief master sergeant's STAR Award in an informal ceremony here March 28. Command Chief Master Sgt. Robert Brooks presented his award to Tech. Sgt. Scott Niemann, Staff Sgt. Ismael Boquiren and Senior Airmen Brittney Ragone and Eric Graslie for their efforts late January while participating in Goynes Elementary School's career day. The Nellis Airmen briefed kindergarten, first and second grade students about the Air Force mission and, more specifically, the fuels career field. In addition, the Airmen set up a static display of their squadron's R-11 refueling truck for more than 550 students to see and learn about. "The kids all had a lot of questions," explained Airman Eric Graslie. "It was great giving them more of an idea of what the Air Force does and possibly influence what they might want to do when they get older," he continued. Chief Brooks' STAR Award is a monthly award given to exceptional behind-the-scene performers for distinguished mission or community efforts.
