You may have noticed some changes in the custodial (janitorial) services provided to your area. On May 1, Team Nellis awarded the new base custodial contract to Accent Service Company, Inc. The new contract incorporates the Air Force standards of service.

What does this mean to you? You may see many of the same workers with the previous contractor, but their roles may have changed.

"Accent Service Company is using a team approach to servicing the facilities," said Grace Creason, 99th Civil Engineer Squadron Quality Assurance Monitor. "Previously one person performed all facility functions. Today the personnel are specialized with one taking care of vacuuming and mopping floors, another cleaning the restrooms and yet another taking out the trash."

This contract also uses centralized trash pickup points, which the building facility manager designates, to expedite trash collection.

"The new contract is in line with the new, reduced Air Combat Command standard for all ACC bases," said Russ Collins, 99th CES Operations Flight Manager. "All offices on base, including group and wing commanders', have centralized trash pickup (no at-desk pickup)."

Even though there are changes to the way the jobs get done and the frequency of service, the goal remains to provide quality services to Nellis customers. If you have any concerns with the service you receive, please contact your facility manager, who will work with 99th CES and the contractor to resolve any issues.
