Both the 99th Contracting Squadron and the 99th Comptroller Squadron didn't come to physical blows per se, but they did have grave differences on who's responsible for correcting the inefficiencies with the Airman Battle Uniform procurement process for Nellis and Creech Airmen.

Together, members from both squadrons teamed up with unit deployment managers, resource advisors, government purchase card holders, LCI store managers and a customer to create a new ABU procurement process, which will be available to Nellis and Creech Airmen April 1.

Previously, the ABU procurement process required soon to deploy Airmen to visit many agencies before the uniforms could be issued and was purchased using GPC's.

"The current ABU procurement process is cumberson to Nellis and Creech units and inefficient to agencies, resource advisors and frustrating to deploying Airmen," said Tech. Sgt. Any Daniels, 99th CONS and ABU procurement process team leader.

The new process will correct inefficiencies and eliminate the GPC as a funding tool for ABU purchases, making the financial service officer the sole disspersing agent of funds.

This process will save Airmen a precious commodity - time.

The new process will streamline a flawed ABU procuring process for deploying Airmen and will save 190 man hours per person.
