The Frontline Supervisor Training will be available to Team Nellis-Creech beginning May 4 -18 at various times at both bases. This class will provide frontline supervisors with the tools needed to help Airmen in distress.

The 'Wingman Culture' is central to the Air Force's approach of taking care of its number one resource: its people. Being great Wingmen involves both taking care of yourself and taking care of those around you. We won't be in any position to help our fellow Airmen if we don't first take care of own well-being. The Wingman Culture is, at its core, a culture of responsible choices. Airmen take care of Airmen by making responsible decisions that keep themselves and each other safe and healthy. This concept goes hand-in-hand with the motto 'Good leadership is good prevention'. This is why Team Nellis-Creech will begin offering Frontline Supervisor Training.

This in depth training course for frontline supervisors will enhance their abilities to recognize and effectively intervene with personnel suffering from emotional distress due to a variety of life problems, build on skills first learned during annual suicide prevention training and various professional military education (PME) activities.

The Frontline Supervisor training, a 2-3 hour workshop, combines PME with other sources and uses an interactive and an experience-based approach to learning. The course is designed to effectively and affordably meet the needs of supervisors with emphasis on supervisory and helping skills. This workshop is not designed to train supervisors to be mental health counselors but focus on supervisory skills in helping Airmen in distress.

While the class is designed for supervisors, Airmen of all ranks can benefit from attending this course. The class is equally suited for active duty and civilian employees. Our Professional Development Center will begin offering this class starting in May at both Nellis and Creech Air Force Bases. Those interested in attending the class can sign up through the Community of Practice webpage at https://afkm.wpafb.af.mil/Nellis.CreechPDC Master Sgt. Juliet Gudgel at (702) 652-8723.
